Dave Grohl Rips Through a Roaring Cover of Paul McCartney’s Live and Let Die, Bringing Thunderous Energy to Love Rocks NYC!

Last night, Dave Grohl, the lead singer of the Foo Fighters, rocked the stage at the Love Rocks NYC benefit concert. This big event happens every year to raise money for a group called God’s Love We Deliver, which helps feed people who are too sick to cook for themselves. Dave sang a famous song called “Live and Let Die,” originally by Paul McCartney, who was once in a band with Dave’s old group, Nirvana, for a short time. It’s a cool song from a James Bond movie, and Dave gave it his all! His voice was super strong, though he let the backup singers handle some of the tricky high parts.

Dave didn’t stop there—he also played “Everlong,” a big hit from his band, the Foo Fighters. The crowd loved it! The concert had other fun hosts like Conan O’Brien, Tracy Morgan, and Jim Gaffigan, who made everyone laugh. Plus, tons of other awesome singers and musicians performed, like Tom Morello, Nile Rodgers, the Black Keys, Hozier, Allison Russell, and Bettye Lavette. One exciting moment was when Joss Stone and Trombone Shorty sang a loud, happy version of Prince’s “Let’s Go Crazy” together.

This year has been pretty quiet for Dave and the Foo Fighters so far. Last year, they were super busy with concerts and made a new album called “But Here We Are”—their first one since their drummer, Taylor Hawkins, passed away in 2022. But don’t worry, they’ve got big plans coming up! They’ll play at festivals this spring and summer, and then start a huge tour across North America, beginning July 17 in New York City and ending August 18 in Seattle.

Dave’s also been helping others lately. He joined two guys from the band Anthrax, Charlie Benante and Scott Ian, to record a song called “The Regulator” by Bad Brains. They’re selling it to raise money for Bad Brains’ singer, H.R., who has a rare kind of headache that hurts a lot. It’s pretty cool how Dave uses his music to make a difference!
