Bob Daisley Warns Ozzy Osbourne’s Farewell Show Could End in ‘Embarrassment’

Bob Daisley, who used to play bass guitar for Ozzy Osbourne, is worried about Ozzy’s big goodbye concert. The show, called “Back to the Beginning,” will happen on July 5th at Villa Park in Birmingham, where Ozzy was born. It’s a special event because Ozzy will perform some songs by himself and then play with the original Black Sabbath band for the first time in 20 years. This could be a huge moment in his amazing career.

Lots of fans are super excited, but Bob isn’t so sure it’ll go perfectly. He helped make Ozzy’s early solo albums, so he knows a lot about music. “A big farewell show sounds awesome, but it’s risky,” Bob said. He thinks that with so much attention on Ozzy and the band, it might be hard to do everything just right. Sometimes even the best shows don’t turn out as planned, and that’s what worries him.

The concert is going to be a giant party with tons of famous bands like Metallica, Slayer, Pantera, Gojira, Halestorm, Alice In Chains, Lamb Of God, Anthrax, and Mastodon. They’ll all play to make the day even bigger. While that sounds fun, Bob wonders if having so many stars and so much excitement could make things tricky. If it’s not perfect, it might disappoint fans who expect something amazing.

“It could be a huge, wonderful moment,” Bob said. “But it’s like walking on a tightrope. If it all works out, it’ll be a fantastic way for Ozzy to say goodbye. But if something messes up, it could leave a bad mark on how people remember him, and no one wants that.”

Ozzy, though, is thrilled about the show. He posted on Instagram that it’s his chance to thank Birmingham, his hometown, where his music journey started. “I’m so lucky to do this with people I love,” he wrote. “Birmingham is the real home of metal. Birmingham forever.”

So, while Bob hopes it’ll be great, he’s a little nervous it might not go as planned. Ozzy and his fans are ready to celebrate, and everyone’s waiting to see if this farewell will be the perfect ending to his story.
