Jack Osbourne’s connection with his late dad Ozzy Osbourne remains strong.
During his appearance on Good Night with Ben Gleib, the Black Sabbath frontman’s son, 40, opened up about receiving subtle messages from his dad, who died in July 2025 at 76 years old. Jack shared how his father has shown up for him recently a year after his death.
“Here’s an example. I was on a shoot. I had to go down to Mexico and I’m filming. My flight home was … a hellacious travel day and I woke up and I’m in like a pissed-off mood,” he explained. “I end up getting to the airport and I’m just in my head [and] having one of those like real negative, like s—ty just whatever moments, and I’ve got my backpack on, headphones, marching through this airport and someone comes running up next to me and like bumps me at which point I’m like the f–k.”
“And I look up and this guy runs off. He was clearly late for a flight,” Jack added. “[But,] he’s wearing like a Black Sabbath patch on the back of his vest, and I’m like, ‘Okay, message heard.’”
On the same difficult travel day, Jack shared another moment he had on his connecting flight back home where his father gave him another subtle message.
“I take my headphone out because [they’re] making the announcement. I’m like just making sure I’m on the right plane. All of a sudden, I hear my dad’s music playing,” shared Jack. “And I look over to my right and there’s must have be this 65- [or] 70-year-old Mexican cowboy dude sat there just watching one of my dad’s music videos.”
He continued, “I’m just kind of like, ‘what the f–k. Okay, message heard, message heard.’”
Later in the conversation, the doting dad of five opened up about his dad’s “super emotional” final performance. Jack revealed that the show was on the verge getting cancelled up until two weeks before it happened.
“It was super emotional. You know, there was a lot leading up to it,” he said. “There was a lot of, you know, can he do it and, you know, can he not? Like it it it had was literally getting cancelled two weeks up until it happened.”
“I was just happy he got to do it. You know, it’s what he wanted to do,” Jack continued. “So, it’s like, hey, doctor’s orders or not, you know, he’s still his own man and it’s what he wanted.”

Following Ozzy’s death, Jack welcomed his fifth baby, a girl named Ozzy Matilda Osbourne, with wife Aree Gearhart, sharing the news with a joint Instagram post. Jack is also a father to Maple, 4, whom he shares with Gearhart, and three daughters with his ex-wife, Lisa Stelly: Pearl, 14, Andy, 11, and Minnie, 8.
Jack’s post featured a black-and-white video of baby Ozzy sleeping on floral sheets, with a note card indicating she was born on March 5, weighing in at 7 pounds and 4 ounces. A black Jellycat bat plushie was also seen behind the little one.
“Introducing Ozzy Matilda Osbourne,” the couple simply captioned the post.
Jack said that he and his wife were able to tell his late father about their pregnancy news before the rocker’s July 2025 death, making everything more “healing.”
