Eminem may soon be adding WNBA team owner to his list of accomplishments. According to TMZ, the Detroit rap legend is reportedly in early talks to join an ownership group aiming to bring a WNBA expansion team to Detroit.

The potential ownership group already includes big names like NFL quarterback Jared Goff, former NBA stars Grant Hill and Chris Webber. If things move forward, Detroit could see its own WNBA team by 2028, as the league continues expanding beyond its current 13 teams. Two new teams in Portland and Toronto are already confirmed for 2026, with more announcements expected soon. WNBA Commissioner Cathy Engelbert is expected to make a final decision on Detroit’s bid in the coming year.

Eminem Shows Love for Redman’s Muddy Waters Too

In other hip-hop news, Redman revealed how much Eminem appreciated his long-awaited album “Muddy Waters Too” — so much so that they spent three hours texting back and forth about it!

Speaking with Ambrosia For Heads, Redman said, “[Eminem] was actually listening to the album, texting me after each song — for three hours straight!” He added, “He gave me so much energy. That’s my young bruh.”

Even Xzibit praised the project, telling Redman that staying true to his original sound is what makes him a standout in the game.

Eminem has always shown love to Redman. He hyped the album on social media, calling him one of his “all-time favorite rappers”, and even ranked him at the top of his list of MCs on his 2002 hit “Till I Collapse.”

“It goes: Reggie, JAY-Z, 2Pac and Biggie / André from OutKast, Jada, Kurupt, Nas, and then me.”

Looks like Slim Shady is making moves both in music and sports — and still giving flowers to his heroes along the way.
