Foreigner Shocks Fans as Original Frontman Lou Gramm Rejoins the Band Onstage in Florida Ahead of Their 50th Anniversary Tour

For the past two years, the band Foreigner has been traveling the world on their big goodbye tour. People love them so much that they keep adding more shows. Last summer, they planned extra concerts with Styx and John Waite. Now, they’re looking ahead to 2026 when they’ll celebrate 50 years as a band—and it seems their original singer, Lou Gramm, might join them.

Foreigner just announced seven shows in Mexico and South America starting in late April 2025. Lou Gramm, who was the band’s first singer, will perform with the current members. We don’t know yet how many songs he’ll sing or how big his role will be. The band’s current singer, Kelly Hansen, who joined in 2005, will still be there too.

Last night in Florida, fans got a big surprise. At The BayCare Sound in Clearwater, Lou Gramm came on stage for the last two songs—“I Want to Know What Love Is” and “Hot Blooded.” People in the crowd filmed it, and you can watch it online.

Mick Jones, the guitarist who started Foreigner, hasn’t played much with the band in recent years. Usually, he’d join them for just a few songs during a show. Now, he’s shared that he has Parkinson’s disease, which makes it hard for him to perform. He said, “I haven’t been on stage much because of my health. I’m doing okay, but it’s tough to play my best right now. I still help the band behind the scenes. Parkinson’s is hard every day, but my family and friends support me. I’ve had an amazing music career, and I’m so thankful to the fans who keep coming to our shows. Your support means a lot, especially now.”

Foreigner also hit a huge milestone. Their song “I Want to Know What Love Is” has been played over 1 billion times on Spotify. That puts them in a special group with bands like The Beatles, Queen, and Aerosmith. Foreigner has tons of popular songs—like “Juke Box Hero,” “Cold As Ice,” and “Feels Like The First Time”—and they’ve sold over 80 million albums. Even after more than 40 years, their music is still loved on the radio and online, with almost 15 million streams a week.

Foreigner’s story shows how music can stay special for a long time. Their fans can’t wait to see what’s next, especially with Lou Gramm joining them again!
