Kane Brown Pens His Most Emotional Song Yet, “When You Forget,” as a Heartbreaking Tribute to the Man Who Raised Him

Kane Brown’s new album, The High Road, has 18 songs. One of them, called “When You Forget,” is very special to him. It’s the only song that made him cry while writing it.

Kane shared on Instagram that this song is about his grandfather, who has Alzheimer’s disease. This illness makes it hard for his grandfather to remember things. Kane posted a picture of his grandparents and said his grandfather is the hardest-working man he knows. He hopes to be like him someday.

Kane wrote “When You Forget” to show how much he loves his grandfather. He said the song is also for his grandmother, who is sad because of her husband’s illness. When Kane told his grandmother about the song, she cried because it meant so much to her.

The song talks about how Kane’s grandfather taught him to drive and always took care of the family. Even though his grandfather forgets things now, Kane wants him to know he’s still a hero and a great dad, friend, and husband.

The High Road came out last week, and it also has two songs where Kane sings with his wife, Katelyn. “When You Forget” is a way for Kane to tell his grandfather and others with Alzheimer’s that they are loved and not forgotten.
