Riley Green Brought Out A Special Guest At Windy City Smokeout
Riley Green headlined Day Three of the Windy City Smokeout on Sunday (July 13) and brought out a special surprise guest to help him perform Jamey Johnson’s “In Color,” which Green has performed live for several years.
At this particular performance, he enlisted the help of a real hero, First Lieutenant Jackson Perkins of the United States Marine Corps.
Even though he is stationed in Washington, D.C, the Marines brought Perkins to Chicago to help them with Marine Week in the Windy City. Marine Week this year coincided with the Windy City Smokeout, and Perkins was in the right place as a singer and musician at the right time.
In Green’s Instagram Story, Perkins can be seen hanging out backstage. He even gave the “If It Wasn’t For Trucks” singer a fist bump before he walked out on stage for his headlining set.

A few songs into his set, Green brought Perkins out on stage to join him for a song.
Fans Went Wild For Their Cover of “In Color”
Green’s fans in the crowd outside of United Center went crazy when he brought out Perkins as their special guest. He might have been unknown to the crowd, but fans know that the “Worst Way” singer would only bring out incredible singers to join him on stage.
After just a few lyrics, the crowd was fully on board for Perkins, who also played guitar. After hearing the cheers, Perkins couldn’t help but smile while singing Johnson’s 2008 hit song.
A fan took to TikTok to share a video of the performance and also her admiration of Perkins.
“Came for Riley Green, left obsessed with this man,” the caption read. Watch their awesome duet below.
