In a viral video, the 23-year-old singer Jourdan Blue delivered an astonishing falsetto rendition of Childish Gambino’s “Redbone” straight from his kitchen, effortlessly switching between two distinct voices as if performing a full duet. His impeccable rhythm, soulful delivery, and sheer vocal precision were undeniable, proving that talent transcends any stage.
Blue, whose journey from street performer to AGT golden buzzer winner is nothing short of extraordinary, first discovered his love for performing in eighth grade when a friend convinced him to audition for The Little Mermaid.

Though initially hesitant, he landed the role of Prince Eric, sparking a lifelong passion for music. “Being on stage in front of a packed crowd, holding their attention—it felt so powerful and exciting. That’s when I really discovered my love for performing,” Blue told PEOPLE in an exclusive interview.
Over the years, Blue honed his craft through musicals and street performances, often broadcasting his shows on Bourbon Street in New Orleans using makeshift equipment powered directly from his car battery. Videos of his raw, energetic performances quickly went viral, and he began to cultivate a loyal following on TikTok, reaching thousands of fans worldwide.
“Music is healing,” Blue explains. “When I’m being healed by a song I’m singing, everyone who’s listening feels a little of that too. It’s like that energy is projected outward.” This philosophy has guided his every performance, from small street audiences to the grand stage of America’s Got Talent.

Blue’s viral “Redbone” video has earned praise from fans across social media:
“This kid is the full package … amazing voice, great looking, charismatic…. I think he wins AGT 2025.”
“I can watch you all day … sing me to sleep …. Beautiful young man and voice ….OMG.”
“I can listen to you all day and night!!! Your voice range is beyond!!!!”
“Most deserved golden buzzer.”

Despite facing personal challenges—including struggles with addiction, homelessness, and near-death experiences—Blue has transformed adversity into artistry. His grandfather played a pivotal role in guiding him through early hardships, and fatherhood has further grounded him, instilling a deep appreciation for life’s small joys.
Blue’s path to AGT fame culminated on May 27 when he received the Golden Buzzer from judge Howie Mandel, instantly elevating his side passion into a full-fledged career.
“Howie told me to savor every moment and focus on where I’m at now, not just where I’ll be. That’s something I think about every day—living in the moment instead of always chasing the destination,” Blue reflects.
