Bon Jovi Break Nearly 20-Year Drought With New Pop Radio Hit

Bon Jovi is back in the spotlight, landing their first Top 40 hit on the Pop Airplay chart in almost 20 years, proving the rock legends still have a pulse in today’s music scene. As Forbes recently highlighted, the band has teamed up with rap heavyweight Pitbull for a fresh spin on their 2000 classic, “It’s My Life,” reimagined as the dance-floor-ready “Now or Never.” This week, the track stormed onto the Pop Airplay chart at Number 36, marking a triumphant return for the New Jersey icons.

It’s been a long drought since Bon Jovi last cracked this chart. Their previous pop radio success came in 2006 with “Who Says You Can’t Go Home,” a tune that hung around for 10 weeks and climbed to Number 30. Before that, “It’s My Life” had been their ticket back to the Top 40 in 2000, hitting Number 33 after a five-year absence. Now, nearly two decades later, “Now or Never” is reigniting that fire. The song’s not just a one-chart wonder either—it’s surging on the Adult Pop Airplay chart, jumping from Number 18 to a peak of Number 15, while holding steady at Number 11 on the Hot Dance/Pop Songs tally.

Pitbull brings his own firepower to the collaboration. With “Now or Never,” he notches his 40th Top 40 hit on the Pop Airplay chart, a milestone that underscores his dominance in the game. Ten of his tracks have cracked the Top 10, with two soaring to Number 1. For Bon Jovi, this partnership has also unlocked new territory: Forbes noted the band’s debut on the Dance/Electronic Digital Song Sales chart, where “Now or Never” entered at Number 13. For Pitbull, it’s his 29th entry on that Billboard dance ranking, cementing his versatility.

Bon Jovi’s history with pop radio is storied—they’ve racked up over a dozen hits on the Pop Airplay chart across their career. But “Now or Never” feels like a bold reinvention, blending their anthemic roots with Pitbull’s high-energy beats. It’s a comeback that’s turning heads, proving Bon Jovi can still rock the charts—and the dance floor—after all these years.
