Brad Paisley is a country music star who loves performing at the Grand Ole Opry, a famous place for music in Nashville. He’s been a member since 2001 and always gives the audience a great show with his popular songs and amazing guitar playing.
Over the years, Brad has shared the stage with other country singers like Carrie Underwood, Scotty McCreery, and Keith Urban. But on Tuesday, April 12, something extra special happened. Brad had a surprise guest who usually plays rock music, not country.
Can you guess who it was?
It was John Fogerty, the singer and guitarist from a famous rock band called Creedence Clearwater Revival, or CCR for short.
Brad and John performed a super fun version of “Proud Mary,” a song John wrote for CCR. It was a big hit for his band, reaching number 2 on the music charts. Another singer, Tina Turner, also made it famous with her own version.
At the Opry, John sang the words to “Proud Mary” while Brad played the guitar. Brad showed everyone how talented he is by staying in the background but still shining. At one moment, when John took a break, Brad played a fantastic guitar solo that made the crowd cheer.
You can watch Brad and John’s awesome “Proud Mary” performance online.
We hope Brad and John play together again someday because they were so great.
