Guess what? Bradley Cooper, the actor with the cool long hair, might soon play Barry Gibb from the Bee Gees in a new movie! The Bee Gees were a super famous band with Barry and his brothers Maurice and Robin, and they made awesome songs like “Stayin’ Alive.” Bradley is already working on another movie about a music guy named Leonard Bernstein, but now people are asking him to be Barry too. This Bee Gees movie is being made by some big names, like Graham King, who helped make the Queen movie Bohemian Rhapsody, and Steven Spielberg’s company, Amblin Entertainment.
The movie is still being planned, and a writer named Anthony McCarten, who worked on Bohemian Rhapsody and a movie about Elton John called Rocketman, is helping write it. Those movies were huge hits, and people loved hearing about famous singers from the 1970s. The Bee Gees were a big deal back then too—their album Saturday Night Fever is the bestselling soundtrack ever! It’s got catchy songs like “Night Fever” that everyone still dances to.
Barry Gibb is the only Bee Gee still alive today. His twin brothers Maurice and Robin, who were in the band with him, and his other brother Andy, who sang on his own, are no longer here. Bradley Cooper could be perfect to play Barry because he’s already good at music stuff—he even sang in his movie A Star Is Born and won an Oscar for the song “Shallow.” Can’t wait to see if he’ll bring Barry’s story to life on the big screen!
