Cassie has responded to Kanye West’s explosive accusation that she extorted Diddy — and she did it with a sharp, subtle move.
The tension erupted on March 18 when Kanye launched one of his most controversial rants yet on X (formerly Twitter), taking aim at several figures in the industry, including Cassie, Playboi Carti, Cardi B, and Jim Jones. But his remarks about Cassie stood out most.
Kanye claimed once again that Cassie had demanded money from Diddy in exchange for staying silent about their past, suggesting her lawsuit was nothing more than extortion.
“How every n**** you know hit a girl before but everybody so mad at Puff?” he wrote. “So Cassie ain’t extort Puff? Cassie came to Puff and said gimme 30 million or I’ma release a tell all book. That looks like extortion to me.”
Rather than a detailed response, Cassie simply shared Playboi Carti’s blunt reply to Kanye — “YE STFU” — on her Instagram Story, letting that statement speak for her.

Cassie’s lawsuit, filed in November 2023 and settled the next day, accused Diddy of repeated physical and sexual abuse during their decade-long relationship. While Diddy denied the claims at the time, security footage leaked months later showing him violently attacking Cassie in a hotel hallway in 2016. The footage added weight to her allegations and led to a public apology from Diddy, who admitted being “disgusted” by his actions.
Kanye has continued to publicly support Diddy, even collaborating with him on a new track titled “Lonely Roads Still Go To Sunshine.” The song, which Kanye posted and later deleted, features a phone call with Diddy from jail, plus guest appearances by Diddy’s son King Combs, singer Jasmine Williams, and Kanye’s own daughter, North West.
The track triggered new controversy, especially from Kim Kardashian, who sent Kanye a cease-and-desist letter for using North’s vocals. Since Kim owns the trademark rights to North’s name, she was able to legally challenge the release.
In response, Kanye shared screenshots of text exchanges with Kim and vowed not to remove his daughter from the track, stating she would “have to kill him” to stop him from going to war over it.
Kanye’s recent actions and his ongoing defense of Diddy, who faces charges related to sex trafficking and racketeering, have further intensified public backlash. But it’s Cassie’s minimalistic yet cutting response that’s getting the most attention online.
