Cody Rhodes Promises Payback After Travis Scott “Slapped the Sh*t” Out of Him at WWE Elimination Chamber

Travis Scott-Cody Rhodes

WWE Undisputed Champion Cody Rhodes has called out Travis Scott following their surprise encounter at WWE’s Elimination Chamber event in February — where the rapper landed a brutal hit on the wrestling star that left him with a black eye and a ruptured eardrum.

The incident took place during a chaotic moment in the ring involving The Rock, John Cena, and La Flame (Scott), who teamed up to viciously attack Rhodes. As Rhodes lay face down on the mat, Scott stepped in and delivered a hard punch, marking one of the wildest celebrity crossovers in WWE history.

Speaking to Complex in a new interview, Rhodes admitted he’s not holding a grudge — but he’s not forgetting it, either.

“That’s wrestling. Beat me up, I’m gonna beat you up,” Rhodes said. “I am not mad so much, but I am looking and my eyes are open for what we inevitably, what we’ll call a receipt.

If Travis Scott ever makes his way back into the WWE fray, maybe there’s a receipt for Travis.”

Rhodes also revealed he was a fan of Scott before the incident — even copping a pair of his sought-after Nike sneakers. “Prior to this, though, by the way, I was a Travis Scott fan!” he said. “I bought those sneakers.”

The Rock Weighs In: “Make It Count”

Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, who orchestrated the Elimination Chamber beatdown, previously spoke about Travis Scott’s participation during a post-event press conference.

“[Travis] wanted to get his hands bloody. I whispered to him as he was going out, ‘If you’re gonna get your hands bloody, make it count.’ He slapped the sh*t out of Cody tonight,” Johnson said. “He was really, really hyped up.”

Johnson praised Scott’s energy and passion for wrestling, suggesting that the rapper is more than just a musical guest — he’s becoming a true part of WWE’s evolving storyline.

“He loves the business… Some want to sit and enjoy, some want to be on camera. But some, like Travis, deeply want to get involved. And that’s what you saw tonight.”

Travis Scott in the WWE?

The Rock also teased a possible future match for the Utopia rapper, saying there’s more to come.

“We have this opportunity to create this big moment in pro wrestling… and we also had an opportunity to bring Travis Scott in too and start to form a union, an alliance with The Final Boss and Travis Scott.”

While Scott hasn’t returned to WWE programming since the event, his music continues to be used across shows — and his shocking in-ring moment may have been just the beginning of a crossover that could lead to an actual match.

As for Cody Rhodes? He’s keeping an eye out — and making it clear that if Travis comes back, he might not walk away so easily next time.
