Legendary Public Enemy rapper Flavor Flav recently visited Eminem’s Detroit restaurant, Mom’s Spaghetti, to show his support for the hip-hop icon. While enjoying the rapper’s famous pasta, Flavor Flav even gave Eminem the ultimate compliment, calling him the “best rapper alive.”
Mom’s Spaghetti: Inspired by Eminem’s Hit Song
Eminem (real name Marshall Mathers) opened Mom’s Spaghetti in 2021 in his hometown of Detroit, Michigan. The restaurant’s name comes from the lyrics of his hit song Lose Yourself:
“His palms are sweaty, knees weak, arms are heavy
There’s vomit on his sweater already, mom’s spaghetti.”
Since its launch, the restaurant has become a must-visit spot for tourists and Eminem fans. Along with serving spaghetti dishes, the location also features a shop selling Eminem’s albums and exclusive merchandise. Above the restaurant, visitors can even check out a recreation of the trailer Eminem lived in before his rise to fame.
Flavor Flav Shows Love to Eminem
During his visit, Flavor Flav shared a video on Instagram, saying:
“Ayo Eminem, Flavor Flav right here in yo spot eating some Mom’s Spaghetti while it’s still hot. And yo, let me tell you something, it’s some real good spaghetti, Eminem. I ain’t gonna lie, G. Y’know I had to come and support you, man.”
He continued, calling Eminem the “best rapper alive” and thanking him for shouting out his name in past songs.
Hip-Hop Legends Respect Eminem’s Talent
Flavor Flav isn’t the only Public Enemy member who respects Eminem’s skills. Chuck D, another rap legend, once referred to Eminem as a “lyrical cyborg” during an interview on the Drink Champs podcast with Noreaga and DJ EFN.
Eminem’s influence in hip-hop is undeniable, and even legends from previous generations recognize his talent. With Mom’s Spaghetti still thriving in Detroit, fans have a unique way to experience a piece of Eminem’s world—one plate at a time.
