On Saturday night, Blake Shelton, a famous country singer, performed two big shows at a special place called the Grand Ole Opry. During the show, he brought his wife, Gwen Stefani, on stage to sing with him. This was Gwen’s first time singing in person at the Opry, and it was a big moment for her!
Gwen, who is 52, and Blake, who is 46, sang two songs together: “Nobody but You” and “Happy Anywhere.” Between the songs, Gwen talked to the crowd. She said, “I’m so nervous and so excited! I never thought I’d be here with Blake Shelton. It feels like a miracle, and I’m so thankful. Thank you all!” The crowd loved her so much that they stood up and clapped loudly after each song.
Blake was super proud of Gwen. He went on social media and wrote, “I can’t believe it! Gwen got TWO standing ovations for her first time on the Grand Ole Opry stage. That was amazing to see!” Gwen had sung at the Opry before, but only on a video call in May 2020 from their home in Oklahoma. This time, she was there in person, and it was extra special.
The show wasn’t just about Blake and Gwen. Some singers from a TV show called The Voice, where Blake helps teach new singers, performed too. Wendy Moten, Jake Hoot, and Todd Tilghman, who all did great on the show, joined in for the fun night.
Blake and Gwen love singing together. Last November, Blake surprised Gwen by joining her for a song during her last show in Las Vegas. They sang “Happy Anywhere” there too. They’re a team on The Voice, and the new season starts on September 19. They’re excited to help more singers this year.
Blake and Gwen got married a year ago in July, and they celebrated their first anniversary with sweet posts online. Gwen shared a video of their wedding day with a song by Elvis Presley called “Can’t Help Falling in Love.” In the video, Blake lifts Gwen’s veil, and they dance and kiss. She wrote, “1 year down, forever to go!” and Blake replied, “I love you! Thank you for saying yes!”
Blake posted a wedding photo too, saying, “Happy anniversary to Gwen, who makes my world so happy. This has been the best year of my life because of you. I love you! Thank you for saying yes!” Gwen answered, “My dream man—thank you, God!”
