The stage was set for celebration, but what followed was a clash of grief, loyalty, and long-held rage.
During a stop on Nelly’s ‘Where The Party At’ Tour in Ottawa on April 14, Ja Rule led an emotional tribute to his late friend and Murder Inc. co-founder, Irv Gotti, during his opening set. As he prepared to perform “I Cry,” Ja played a touching montage of Gotti and his family, with audio playing of Gotti praising the late DMX.
“Gotti I love you, n-gga!” Ja shouted. “X, I love you n-gga!”
But the love quickly gave way to fire.
Just days earlier, 50 Cent reignited his long-standing war with Ja Rule by mocking Gotti’s death on Instagram, writing: “Ya man in my Runtz right now!” The cruel jab — later deleted — was in response to Ja’s recent Breakfast Club interview, where he admitted he was ready to “go nuclear” over 50’s constant disrespect of Gotti, but was talked down by notorious street figure Supreme McGriff.
That restraint didn’t last.
Ja Rule fired back on X with a blistering, unfiltered tirade, accusing 50 Cent of being a snitch, a fraud, and a glorified used car salesman.
“@50cent SUCK MY DICK you bitch ass n-gga… I already ate your lunch shut up!!! Until you do something to the n-ggas that shot you you can’t troll no more…”
He didn’t stop there.
“You’re a used car salesman… 1 good album, after that: trash. Liquor? Trash. TV shows? Trash. Character? Trash. Boo boo the fool from Queens… CB4 ass n-gga…”
And then came the nuclear part: Ja Rule posted alleged paperwork referring to Curtis Jackson — 50’s real name — as an informant, along with accusations that he told the Feds Murder Inc. had him shot, leading to the infamous federal indictment that crippled the label in the early 2000s.
“You’re right — he told the Feds… [rat emoji] @50cent Go ahead and lie… so I can send this next shot. WE GOT RECEIPTS, boo boo.”
To support his claims, Ja even posted screenshots of a 2016 HipHopDX article quoting G-Unit affiliate Bang ’Em Smurf, who alleged that 50 once sought an order of protection against Murder Inc. after a violent incident in the studio.
“Say I’m lying, n-gga. I DARE YOU.”
