“Jamming With the Angels Now”: Watch Eric Clapton Perform “All Your Love” Alongside His Late Mentor John Mayall

John Mayall, known as the “Godfather of British Blues,” has passed away at the age of 90. His music helped define an entire era, and his love for the guitar inspired fans around the world for nearly seven decades. He wasn’t just admired by fans—many famous musicians also respected him deeply. Stars like Ron Wood, Geezer Butler, and Mick Jagger all took a moment to honor Mayall after his passing.

Eric Clapton, one of the world’s greatest guitarists, also shared how much Mayall meant to him. The two once performed together and created a special moment on stage with the song “All Your Love.” That performance, though uploaded online over five years ago, still receives praise from fans who remember how powerful their music was.

One fan wrote, “Imagine a world without Eric Clapton, Peter Green, The Rolling Stones, Led Zeppelin… We wouldn’t have had them if it wasn’t for John Mayall.” Another fan said, “John Mayall helped launch so many great musicians. He made about one album every year for 60 years. Just amazing.”

After Mayall’s passing, Clapton shared a heartfelt message. He said Mayall changed his life when he was just 18 or 19 years old and thinking about quitting music. “He saved me,” Clapton said. “He was my mentor and like a second father to me. He taught me to be confident and express myself freely.”

Missing his friend deeply, Clapton ended with these touching words: “I hope to see him on the other side. Thank you, John. I love you. I’ll see you soon—but not yet. Not yet, as they say in the Gladiator movie.”
