Jelly Roll And Kelly Clarkson Perform ‘I Am Not Okay’ Duet On ‘The Kelly Clarkson Show’

Jelly Roll and Kelly Clarkson teamed up to sing his popular song “I Am Not Okay” on a special part of The Kelly Clarkson Show called “Kellyoke.” This fun performance happened on the show’s stage, and fans got a sneak peek when the show shared a behind-the-scenes video of them practicing.

Kelly and Jelly, as they playfully called themselves, hugged and talked about how they first met at the Grammy Awards. Jelly Roll said he was super excited to meet Kelly because he’s a big fan. He was even more thrilled when Kelly knew who he was! He told her, “Miss Clarkson, I am such a fan,” and she replied, “Hey, Jelly,” which made him so happy.

During their practice, they worked together to figure out how to sing the song as a duet. They decided where to add harmonies and when Kelly would use her amazing voice to sing big parts of the song. Jelly Roll was full of joy watching Kelly sing his song in her own special way, and Kelly loved the song too. She said it’s a powerful tune with a real message about feeling down but holding onto hope that things will get better.

“I Am Not Okay” was written by Jelly Roll with his friends Ashley Gorley, Casey Brown, and Taylor Phillips. It’s a song from his newest album, Beautifully Broken, and it talks about tough times and staying strong. Kelly said, “This song is so good. I’m so excited to sing it with Jelly Roll. I love real messages that matter.”

This wasn’t the first time Kelly sang one of Jelly Roll’s songs on her show. Earlier this year, she sang his hit “Save Me,” which he made with Lainey Wilson. Jelly Roll loved her version so much that he said it made him cry. He wrote online, “I’m so honored that Kelly Clarkson sang my song. I cried watching it.”

The official performance of Jelly Roll and Kelly Clarkson singing “I Am Not Okay” aired on The Kelly Clarkson Show at 3 p.m. CT on NBC and Peacock. It was a heartwarming moment that showed how music can bring people together!
