Kane Brown and Jelly Roll, two big country music stars, teamed up for a new song called “Haunted.” It’s part of Kane’s new album, The High Road, which came out on January 24. This song is special because it talks about feeling sad and lonely, something both singers have felt, even though they’re famous.
Kane said, “’Haunted’ is about feeling really down, like when you’re depressed. I go through that, and I know lots of people do too. I wanted to share this song to help others understand, and Jelly Roll made it even better by singing with me.” The song helps people know that even stars can feel sad sometimes, and it’s okay to talk about it.
In the song, Kane sings about waking up scared and sweaty, even though he has fancy things like a big bed, a diamond ring, and a fast car. He feels like a “superstar” but still gets lonely and feels like a ghost inside. The words go, “Wakin’ up in cold sweats, California king beds, got the diamond ring set… I still got this feeling in my bones, happens every time that I’m alone.”
Jelly Roll sings about his own struggles too. He says he’s been trying to escape his problems his whole life, and even though he’s successful now, he sometimes feels lost. He wonders if all his hard work is worth it. He sings, “If I’m bein’ real, I spent my whole life escapin’ the pills… I’m searchin’ for purpose, I feel wealthy but worthless.”
Together, they sing the chorus about how their sad thoughts haunt them, like a ghost that won’t go away. They say, “I’m haunted by the voice in my head, I’m haunted by the taste of that lead… I wanted too many times to be gone by the mornin’.” They wrote this song while traveling in Europe in 2023, and it was made with help from a music maker named Dan Huff.
There’s also a music video for “Haunted” that shows Kane and Jelly Roll feeling these big emotions. The video was filmed in 2024 and early 2025 by a director named Alex Alvga. It shows them trying to feel better while dealing with their tough thoughts.
This isn’t the first time Kane has sung about feeling sad. Back in July 2021, he made a song called “Memory” with a singer named Blackbear. That song talks about feeling down and worried but trying to live in the moment and feel better. They sing, “I wanna live life fast, I don’t know how to slow down… Help me now, I’m on runnin’ on empty, and I don’t wanna be a memory.”

Kane’s new album, The High Road, has 18 songs, including “Haunted.” It also has other songs like “Backseat Driver,” “I Am,” and “Fiddle In The Band,” plus songs with other singers like Marshmello, Khalid, Brad Paisley, and Kane’s wife, Katelyn Brown. Kane said, “This album is my favorite I’ve ever made. It shows all parts of my story and the music I love. Every song and every friend I sing with means a lot to me. I’m so proud of it.”
The High Road comes after Kane’s 2022 album, Different Man, which had big hits like “One Mississippi,” “Like I Love Country Music,” and “Thank God” with Katelyn.
Kane is also going on a big trip to sing these new songs on The High Road Tour. He’ll have friends like Mitchell Tenpenny, Scotty McCreery, Ashley Cooke, and Dasha singing with him at some shows. The tour starts on March 13 in San Diego, California, and ends on July 10 in Chicago, Illinois. It’s going to be a fun way for fans to hear Kane’s new music live!
