Kanye West may be at risk of losing joint custody of his children with Kim Kardashian, as the reality star is reportedly considering legal action against her ex-husband. The former couple currently shares joint custody of their four children, but recent events have sparked serious conflict between the two.
According to TMZ, Kim is furious after Kanye included their 11-year-old daughter North West on a new song alongside Sean “Diddy” Combs — an artist currently facing serious allegations, including sex trafficking. What makes the situation worse is that Kanye reportedly did not get Kim’s permission beforehand, which violates their custody agreement.
Their divorce settlement states that both parents must make joint decisions regarding their children. Sources say both legal teams previously agreed that North would not be featured on any public track with Diddy — a decision that was made during a private mediation session.
However, Kanye went ahead and released the song anyway. The track, titled “Lonely Roads Still Go to Sunshine,” was shared on social media over the weekend. It features not only North but also Diddy’s son Christian Combs, singer Jasmine Williams, and Kanye himself.

This move has reportedly pushed Kim to consider taking legal steps that could result in Kanye losing his joint custody rights. Adding to the tension are Kanye’s recent controversies, including his alarming comments related to Nazism and other public outbursts.
After releasing the song, Kanye shared screenshots of a heated text exchange with Kim. In the messages, he appears to cut off communication with her over a dispute regarding the trademark of North’s name.
Kim responded by reminding Kanye that he had agreed years ago to allow her to handle the trademarking of their children’s names — a move made to protect them from outsiders using their identities for commercial purposes. She also claimed she sent legal paperwork to prevent North from appearing in the Diddy song in the first place.
Kanye fired back with a threatening message: “Amend it or I’m going to war. And neither of us will recover from the public fallout. You’re going to have to kill me.”
In a separate post on X (formerly Twitter), Kanye accused Kim and her family of cutting him out of key parenting decisions. He wrote:
“I DON’T WANT TO JUST ‘SEE’ MY KIDS. I NEED TO RAISE THEM… ALL THESE RIGHTS HAVE BEEN TAKEN FROM ME BY THE KARDASHIAN MOB, HULU AND DISNEY.”
He added, “Just seeing my kids is like visitation.”
Neither Kim Kardashian nor Kanye West has officially commented on the latest reports. However, sources close to the situation suggest that the reality star may be preparing to take the matter to court.
