Kanye West is once again making headlines — this time for opening up about his regrets over starting a family with Kim Kardashian.
In a new interview with DJ Akademiks, Ye sat down for a candid hour-long conversation while wearing a black outfit that stirred controversy online. During their talk, Kanye shared that he knew early on he didn’t want children with Kim.
“I didn’t wanna have children with this person after the first two months of being with her,” he said. “But that wasn’t God’s plan.”
Despite his regrets, Kanye admitted that he made the choice to stay in the relationship and takes responsibility for how things played out — including feeling unsupported when Kim reportedly kept their children from him.
“No, that was my fault,” Ye confessed.
Kanye and Kim share four kids together: North, Saint, Chicago, and Psalm.
Meanwhile, Kim Kardashian recently responded to Ye’s comments during her appearance on the Angie Martinez IRL podcast. She expressed frustration over how Kanye’s public remarks affect her reputation and hurt their children.
“The testing of my character… that’s the one thing that’s hard,” Kim said. “There’s already so many haters. Why would you want anyone to think that of your mum?”
Kim also opened up about life after the split, saying she finally feels “free.”
“Even though I got emotional talking about Kanye, I feel free… I don’t hold anybody else’s opinions or burdens anymore.”
