Kendrick Lamar is proving once again that greatness extends beyond the mic. Despite his recent global success, including a historic Super Bowl performance viewed by over 133 million people, the Compton rap icon is staying grounded — and fit.
Kendrick Spotted Doing Pull-Ups at a Public Park
A new video that went viral on March 10 shows Kendrick Lamar grinding through a tough calisthenics workout in a public park in Los Angeles, wearing a hoodie under the California sun. He performed pull-ups with bent knees for added difficulty, all while keeping a low profile — and surprisingly, no one around seemed to recognize the superstar rapper in their midst.
Fitness Is Part of Kendrick’s Daily Discipline
Kendrick has become increasingly dedicated to his fitness routine. In a rare interview with Harper’s Bazaar, he revealed:
“My early-morning practice is that I have to run… There was this threshold of pain in the spirituality for me… Then I get whispers and downloads and start talking about shit I want to know about. And next thing I’m three miles in, four miles in. I wake up and do that shit every day.”
Kendrick’s Workout Journey — From NY Streets to LA Parks
This isn’t the first time Kendrick has been spotted keeping in shape. Back in 2022, he was seen doing pull-ups in New York City alongside Harlem’s own A$AP Ferg, fashion icon Dapper Dan, and others, even taking part in a pull-up contest using scaffolding. Kendrick not only kept up — he dominated, throwing in some hanging leg raises for extra flex.
In 2023, he also shared a clip on his burner Instagram, showing himself doing pull-ups and push-ups in an LA park, grooving to Con Funk Shun’s “Straight From the Heart” — proving his workouts are as soulful as his lyrics.
And if you needed more proof of his dedication, Kendrick even claimed in “The Hillbillies” that he eats 150 grams of protein per day — a serious commitment to maintaining muscle and strength.
