Kid Rock, the hip-hop and country-rock star from Detroit, is back with another take on the 2025 U.S. election—but this time, he’s showing respect for Eminem and Taylor Swift, even though they don’t share the same political views.
Kid Rock Applauds Eminem & Taylor Swift for Speaking Their Minds
In a shirtless, guitar-playing video posted on social media, Kid Rock acknowledged Eminem and Taylor Swift for using their platforms to stand up for what they believe in.
“I love Eminem. We’ve been friends for many years. I don’t agree with his politics, but I give credit to him and people like Taylor Swift for speaking out and not being afraid to stand up for their beliefs. Thinking differently and having the freedom to do so is what makes this country great.”
Eminem’s Political Move & Kid Rock’s Surprising Response
Eminem, a longtime Democrat supporter, recently backed Kamala Harris at a Detroit rally, appearing at Huntington Place alongside former President Barack Obama. Despite their opposing political views, Kid Rock—who has openly supported MAGA—stood by Eminem’s right to express himself.
Eminem & Kid Rock Share a Rare Moment of Unity
Following Rock’s post, Eminem responded on X (formerly Twitter), keeping things lighthearted:
“Here’s one thing Kid Rock and I do agree on… GO DETROIT LIONS !!!! Appreciate you, Bob.”
A few hours later, Kid Rock fired back with an unexpected show of unity:
“Thanks, Eminem. Who would’ve thought it would be two white rappers from Detroit/Michigan showing our divided country what class is and how it should be done! Appreciate ya too, Marshall! Kid Rock / Bob Ritchie. DETROIT LOVE #GOLIONS.”
Music Over Politics? A Lesson in Respect
In an era where political divides run deep, this exchange between two of Detroit’s biggest musical icons serves as a refreshing reminder that respect and common ground still exist—especially in music.
While their political ideologies couldn’t be more different, Eminem and Kid Rock have shown that mutual respect, even across divides, is still possible.
And if there’s one thing they can both agree on—it’s Detroit pride and the Lions’ Super Bowl dreams!
Thanks @Eminem – Who would of thought it would be 2 white rappers from Detroit / Michigan to show our divided Country what class is and how it should be done! Appreciate ya too Marshall!
