Kodak Black Quietly Pays Rent for 200+ Families in Pompano Beach’s Golden Acres Projects

Florida rapper Kodak Black is proving that redemption doesn’t need a spotlight. Despite a rocky start to the year — including a widely circulated video showing him seemingly high and incoherent — the ‘ZEZE’ hitmaker has quietly stepped up in a major way for his hometown of Pompano Beach.

According to a resident named Vince Thompson, Kodak has personally covered the rent for over 200 residents living in the Golden Acres housing projects — not just once, but for two consecutive months. In an emotional post shared to X, Thompson made it clear: Kodak didn’t do this for attention, and in fact, didn’t want it publicized.

“He may not want the limelight,” Thompson wrote, “but for the 2nd month straight @KodakBlack has paid the rent for over 200 residents in Golden Acres, the entire projects!”

Golden Acres, an area long plagued by gun violence, poverty, and substance abuse, has seen better days. But Kodak, born and raised in those very streets, continues to reach back and uplift. He’s done it before: back in 2022, Kodak saved 28 families from eviction by paying off their back rent and covering future months so they wouldn’t face homelessness.

“A lot of people shine a light on the negativity,” Thompson added. “I’m a see how many people share the positive things you do, fam.”

This comes as Kodak tries to turn a page, with recent releases like ‘Cluck’, ‘Single Again’, and ‘Inside I Suffer’ reflecting vulnerability and struggle. Whether or not the public forgives him for past missteps, there’s no denying that his actions are changing real lives.

He didn’t post about it. He didn’t film it. He just did it.
