Ma$e Admits He Preferred 2Pac To Biggie When He Joined Bad Boy

On the latest episode of It Is What It Is (March 5), Ma$e revealed a surprising truth: before joining Bad Boy Records, he was more of a 2Pac fan than a Biggie fan.

The Harlem rapper, who co-hosts the show with Cam’ron, reflected on his early rap journey and how Biggie played a role in shaping his career. Before signing with Bad Boy, Ma$e dedicated six months to improving his rap skills, studying legends like Method Man, LL Cool J, and Nas.

“I wasn’t listening to Big at first,” Ma$e admitted. “I was really a 2Pac fan. But once I got signed, Biggie started letting me hear his raps, and I learned so much from that.”

A defining moment came when Biggie brought Ma$e on stage at Harlem’s iconic Apollo Theater. “That changed everything,” he recalled.

Jim Jones Takes Shots at Ma$e Over His Appearance

While Ma$e continues making waves with his show, he recently found himself on the receiving end of harsh criticism from Jim Jones.

In a conversation with XXL on March 4, the Dipset rapper body-shamed Ma$e, making remarks about his weight and health.

“He need to go on a diet,” Jones said. “He look terrible. Waist look crazy. He need to get on the treadmill, do some push-ups—do something.”

Jones’ jabs may be fueled by his ongoing feud with Cam’ron, but his issues with Ma$e run deeper. Back in January, Jones shared that he has long resented how Ma$e treated Cam’ron after finding success.

“I watched Ma$e shit on Cam and everybody around him,” Jones said on the Respectfully podcast. “Cam and Ma$e were best friends growing up. I was there for everything.”

With old tensions resurfacing, it’s clear the drama between Ma$e and Jim Jones is far from over.
