Ma$e is making headlines after showing unexpected support for Diddy, who is currently facing serious sex trafficking charges. Despite their rocky past, the former Bad Boy rapper spoke candidly about the situation on his It Is What It Is sports talk show on Monday (March 17).
While chatting with co-host Cam’ron, Ma$e addressed rumors about a possible run-in with Diddy’s son, Christian Combs, at the recent funeral for Voletta Wallace, the mother of The Notorious B.I.G. Ma$e responded calmly, saying: “I think we looked at each other but I don’t think he saw me. I would have said what’s up.”
In a surprising turn, Ma$e revealed he’s open to visiting Diddy in jail:
“If my name was on the list, I’d go visit Puff. I would visit him, make sure he was good. These are the times when you need people to check up on you.”
He clarified that while he does not condone the allegations, he believes in acknowledging the good that Diddy once did for him, especially in his music career.
“He didn’t do all bad. He did some good. I’m talking about the musical side—giving me an opportunity. I think as a person of class, you definitely got to show up and sit somewhere in the court if they let you.”
When Cam’ron asked whether he thinks Diddy is innocent, Ma$e admitted: “I don’t know.”
Interestingly, this comes just weeks after Ma$e appeared to troll Diddy by teasing the release of his first album in over 20 years—set to drop on the same day as Diddy’s trial. When asked by guest co-host Maurice Clarett about the release date, Ma$e smirked and said:
“May 25th. The first day of the Diddy trial. We’re dropping. You like that? You made me put it out there.”
He also revealed the album will be a triple-disc project, adding: “Now we even.”
However, it’s worth noting that Diddy’s trial, initially scheduled for May 5, has since been postponed after new charges were added in a superseding indictment. It remains unclear whether Ma$e will shift his album release date to match the updated trial schedule or stick with the May 25 launch.
