Morgan Wallen and Post Malone‘s new song may be titled “I Ain’t Comin’ Back,” but the two singers just came back with their second duet.
Wallen and Malone have been friends for some time now. In 2024, they released their first collaboration, “I Had Some Help,” as the lead single from Malone’s debut country album, F-1 Trillion.
“I Had Some Help” was a smash success. The track was named Billboard‘s “Song of the Summer” for 2024 and won the Top Collaboration category at the BBMAs.
After “I Had Some Help,” fans remained hopeful that Wallen and Malone would collaborate again in the future. Their wish came true on April 15, when Wallen announced they were releasing a new song together.
That song, titled “I Ain’t Comin’ Back,” dropped on Friday (April 18). Wallen and Malone co-wrote the track with Louis Bell, HARDY, ERNEST, and Ryan Vojtesak.
“I Ain’t Comin’ Back” opens with Wallen singing about his “redneck” and “rambler” personality. As he leaves his former lover behind, he acknowledges that he’ll never live up to her perfect expectations.
Singing in the chorus, Wallen goes:
“But the night I said, “I’m leavin’,” I turned into Richard Petty.
Broke my heart, so I got even in my ’97 Chevy.
Now I’m walkin’ on this water mixed with Johnnie Walker Black.
There’s a lot of reasons I ain’t Jesus,
But the main one is that I ain’t comin’ back.”
Malone jumps in on the second verse, saying how the girl he used to love has called him the Devil. He adds, “I might be a lot of things, but I ain’t your savin’ grace.”
From there, Malone takes a turn singing the chorus on his own, before he and Wallen unite to sing it together at the end of the song. You can listen to “I Ain’t Comin’ Back” in the lyric video below.

Wallen recently revealed the album’s entire tracklist, including its featured artists. Malone is one of five collaborators featured on the record. The others are Eric Church, ERNEST, HARDY, and pop star Tate McRae.
McRae’s feature is significant, as she’s the first female artist to ever release a duet with Wallen.
