In a new feature with XXL, rising Florida rapper Nardo Wick revealed what he’d ask if he ever got in a room with Eminem — and it’s not what you might expect.
No viral moment. No collab pitch. No selfie.
Instead, Nardo says he wants Eminem to sit down and critique his song “Drew” — a track heavily inspired by Em’s legendary 2000 storytelling anthem “Stan.”
“If I was in a room with Eminem, I’d probably ask him to listen to my song ‘Drew’ and give me his honest opinion on it,” Nardo said. “I came up with the idea for ‘Drew’ from Eminem’s song ‘Stan.’ I always thought it was real creative to make that type of song to paint a picture like that, and I wanted to try it and see if I could do it.”
Not Just a Fan — A Disciple
Nardo Wick has never hidden his admiration for Em, calling him one of the few artists who could actually leave him starstruck.
-
“Rap God”
-
“Lose Yourself”
-
“Mockingbird”
-
“Stan”
All top-tier picks in Nardo’s eyes. But what sets this apart is how seriously he takes Eminem’s craft. Nardo isn’t looking for hype — he’s asking the rap surgeon to dissect his work.
If This Meeting Happens…
It won’t just be a meet-and-greet. It’ll be a generational crossover — one where a new-school rapper faces the judge of storytelling and lyricism with nothing but bars in hand.
Until then, the track “Drew” is out in the world — and maybe, just maybe, Em has already heard it.
One day, maybe we’ll hear his answer.
