On Saturday night, October 26, a big concert called Concert for Carolina happened to help people hurt by Hurricane Helene. It was led by two famous singers, Luke Combs and Eric Church. The show had lots of other stars too, like James Taylor, Sheryl Crow, and Bailey Zimmerman, so everyone knew it would be a fun night with great music and surprises.
One surprise no one expected was when Nicole Kidman and Eric Church got the whole crowd to sing “Happy Birthday” to Keith Urban, Nicole’s husband and another big singer at the concert. It happened at a huge stadium in Charlotte, North Carolina, where every seat was full.
Nicole jumped on stage with Keith, who was one of the main performers. She told everyone how happy they were to be there to help out. She said Eric called Keith to invite him, and Keith was excited because it was also his 57th birthday. He wanted to spend his special day helping others.
Then Nicole and Keith asked Eric to come up, and Eric got everyone to sing “Happy Birthday” to Keith. Keith looked a little shy but smiled and had fun with it. After that, Eric and Keith sang a song together called “Raise ‘Em Up,” which they made back in 2013.
The concert started because Luke Combs, who grew up in North Carolina, wanted to help his home state after the big storm. It was so popular that the stadium sold out, and people could also watch it online on Veeps. The money from the show will go to Luke and Eric’s charity groups. Luke plans to give his share to places like Samaritan’s Purse, Manna Food Bank, Second Harvest Food Bank of Northwest NC, and Eblen Charities to help people in need. It was a night full of music and kindness!
