At a big music event called Desert Trip, Paul McCartney, a famous singer from the Beatles, surprised everyone by bringing a special friend on stage—Rihanna, a super popular pop star. They sang their song “FourFiveSeconds” together, which came out in 2015 and also had Kanye West in it, but he wasn’t there that night.
Paul was singing some of his old Beatles songs like “Lady Madonna” and “Eleanor Rigby” when he stopped to bring out Rihanna. He made a funny joke, saying, “We finally found somebody under the age of 50!” He was talking about how most of the singers at the festival were older, like Bob Dylan, the Rolling Stones, Neil Young, Roger Waters, and The Who.
Paul’s show was full of classic Beatles songs that everyone loves, and the whole festival was about old, great music. Even Bob Dylan, who had just won a big prize for writing, sang his old songs from the 1960s and played guitar on stage for the first time in four years.
Paul told the crowd, “This is a once-in-a-lifetime thing.” Then he laughed and said, “Or for us, twice in a lifetime,” because the festival happened over two weekends, and all the singers got to perform two times.
Having Rihanna show up was a fun surprise at a night full of old songs. It made the festival extra special for everyone watching.
