When Taylor Hawkins, the drummer for the Foo Fighters, sadly passed away in 2022, it made a lot of people very upset. He had been playing music with the band for 25 years, and his friends and fans all over the world loved him. To remember him and celebrate his life, the Foo Fighters put together two big concerts—one in London and one in Los Angeles. These shows brought together Taylor’s best musician friends to play music in his honor.
At the Los Angeles concert, which happened at a place called the Kia Forum, a singer named Pink joined in. Dave Grohl, the leader of the Foo Fighters, introduced her, and together they sang a popular Foo Fighters song called “The Pretender.” Pink’s strong, rocking voice surprised a lot of fans, and people online started saying things like, “Wow, Pink can sing anything!”
Other famous musicians also came to both concerts to show their love for Taylor. In London, stars like Liam Gallagher, Paul McCartney, Brian Johnson, John Paul Jones, and Lars Ulrich performed. At the LA show, people like Joan Jett, Brad Wilk, and Nancy Wilson played too. Pink had another special moment in LA when she teamed up with Brian May and Roger Taylor from the band Queen. Someone couldn’t perform because they were sick, so Pink stepped in and sang Queen’s song “Somebody To Love” perfectly, even though it was a last-minute surprise.
All these artists showed how much Taylor Hawkins meant to them. He wasn’t just an amazing drummer—he was a great friend too. Pink’s singing, whether it was Foo Fighters songs or a Queen classic, proved she’s a fantastic rock star and helped keep Taylor’s memory alive in a fun, musical way.
