Cassie was taken to the hospital shortly after delivering her harrowing testimony in Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs’ sex trafficking and racketeering trial. She was taken to a labour and delivery unit in New York City on May 27th while expecting her third child with husband Alex Fine.

The 38-year-old ‘Me & U’ singer took the stand in a four-day testimony in Combs’ trial this month. She was a key witness for the prosecution, detailing allegations about events during their 11-year relationship. At the time of her testimony, she was eight-and-a-half weeks pregnant.

Cassie first announced the pregnancy in February, posting black-and-white photos alongside Fine and their two children, Sunny and Frankie. She married Fine, a personal trainer, in August 2019. In a birthday post in March, Cassie expressed her love for him, referencing their son’s arrival.

“There aren’t words to describe how grateful I am that I get to do this life with you!” she wrote. “The laughter and pure joy that I get to experience with you is beyond any of my dreams and manifestations,” she wrote. “You’ve taken care of me and my heart like no other, you’re hands down the best girl dad and I’m SO excited to see you now become a father to OUR SON!”

Combs has been charged with five counts of sex trafficking, racketeering, and sexual abuse and pleaded not guilty to all of the charges. He allegedly forced Cassie to take part in drug-fuelled sex “freak-offs” with escorts and physically abused her.

Following her testimony, Cassie released a statement about the difficulty of speaking in court, stating that she hoped her words could help others going through similar situations.

“This week has been extremely challenging, but also remarkably empowering and healing for me,” she said. “I hope that my testimony has given strength and a voice to other survivors, and can help others who have suffered to speak up and also heal from abuse and fear.”

She added, “For me, the more I heal, the more I can remember. And the more I can remember, the more I will never forget.”
