The Grand Ole Opry turned 100 years old, and NBC threw a big three-hour party on TV called Opry 100: A Live Celebration. Country music fans loved watching all the amazing singers, while others enjoyed seeing famous people together. For Reba McEntire and her boyfriend Rex Linn, it was a fun date night—and Reba even cried happy tears!
Reba started the show by singing “You Ain’t Woman Enough” and “The Night The Lights Went Out In Georgia” with her friend Trisha Yearwood. After that, she sat with Rex in the audience to watch the rest of the performances. People noticed her getting teary-eyed during lots of the songs because she was so happy.
Reba and Rex have been a couple for over five years. They knew each other for a long time but started dating in January 2020. Later that year, Reba told everyone about it on her podcast. She said, “He’s very special. If he didn’t talk about me on a podcast, I’d feel sad, so I wanted to share how much he means to me.”

A few weeks later, Rex posted a picture of them on Instagram and called Reba “TATER TOT.” He wrote, “Angel on the ground (and on a cooler).” Reba calls him “Sugar Tot,” and together they’re “The Tots.” It’s a cute nickname they share!
Besides being a sweet couple, Reba and Rex work together on a funny NBC show called Happy’s Place, which is set in a Tennessee tavern. The show just got picked up for a second season! It also stars Pablo Castelblanco, who plays the bar’s accountant Steve, and Tokala Black Elk, who plays a waiter named Takoda. In an interview, Pablo and another actor, Melissa Escobedo, talked about what it’s like working with Reba and Rex.
Melissa laughed and said, “They’re so cute it’s almost too much! No, really, they’re super sweet. It’s fun to see them so happy together. Imagine going to work with your favorite person—that’s what they do!”
Pablo added, “They help each other a lot. Rex likes to practice the show a bunch, but Reba waits until the lines are ready. They’re different, but it works. He’ll say, ‘Practice more!’ and she’ll say, ‘Wait for the final lines!’ They keep each other happy and safe, like a real team.”
Reba and Rex really are the sweetest pair, on stage and off!
