Toyah and Robert Fripp, a fun music duo, recently showed off their amazing skills at a big music event called Fairport Convention’s Cropredy festival. They’re famous for singing popular songs in their kitchen, but this time they performed on a real stage and surprised everyone. Their best moment was singing “Kashmir,” a super cool song by Led Zeppelin, and it made the crowd go wild.
Even better, Robert Plant, the guy who first sang “Kashmir” with Led Zeppelin, was watching them from the audience! That made the night extra special.
Toyah and Robert sang a bunch of songs that people love. They did some of Toyah’s own songs like “Thunder In The Mountains,” “It’s A Mystery,” and “I Want To Be Free.” But the big hits they covered, like “Paranoid” by Black Sabbath and “Enter Sandman” by Metallica, got everyone super excited. Then they played “Kashmir,” and it was the best part of the show.
Before they started “Kashmir,” Toyah told the crowd, “We’re so proud of this next song. It’s by someone we really, really love. I won’t say who, but wow, the Midlands makes some great musicians!” The Midlands is the part of England where they’re from.
With a whole band helping them, Toyah and Robert made “Kashmir” sound big and powerful. It was way more serious and awesome than the fun videos they make at home. When they finished, Toyah was so happy she shouted, “We’re so proud that Mr. Robert Plant is here watching us tonight!” The crowd cheered because they couldn’t believe it.
A fan named ganazby, who was there, wrote online, “Robert Plant was standing right behind me by the bar, nodding like he liked it. It was so cool!” That made the story even more exciting because someone saw it happen.
