Rod Stewart, the famous singer, started his big North American One Last Time Tour in Austin on Friday, March 7. Fans were so happy to see him back on stage, and he made it extra special by singing with his daughter Ruby, who is 37 years old. They performed his song “Forever Young” from 1988 together, and even danced a little during the show. Ruby sang a part by herself, and Rod, who is 80, looked so proud of her. He posted a video of their duet on Instagram and wrote, “My dear friends in Austin… What a stunning night. You all knocked me off my feet.”
He also thanked the crowd for cheering for Ruby, saying, “Such enthusiasm and thank you for making my daughter Ruby part of the party ….love ya.” Ruby is his daughter with Kelly Emberg, and the moment was super sweet.
Fans loved it and wrote nice things online. One said, “Wow this is a beautiful song and having Ruby sing with her Dad is precious.” Another wrote, “So great to see the family on stage together again. Super duet.” Someone else said, “She has the raspiness in her voice like her Dad,” and another agreed, “She’s so talented, just like her dad.” One fan even said, “Hard to believe that he is almost 80… That man is amazing and his daughter is a great singer.”
The song “Forever Young” is very special to Rod because it’s about his kids, and he’s said before that it comes from his heart. This tour comes after some happy family news—Rod’s son Liam just had a baby girl named Elsie Skylar Stewart on March 2. Liam, who is 30 and plays hockey, and his wife Nicole already have a little boy named Louie, who is almost 2 years old. They shared the news on Instagram, and Nicole said Elsie’s name was chosen to honor Rod’s mom, Elsie Gilbart, who passed away in 1996.
Rod’s first wife, Alana Hamilton Stewart, who is the mom of his kids Kimberly, Ashley, and Sean, said, “Congratulations!! She’s beautiful!” Rod’s current wife, Penny Lancaster, added, “So adorable, can’t wait to meet Louie’s little sister Elsie.” It’s a happy time for Rod and his big family, and fans can’t wait to see more of him and Ruby on this tour!
