Seven American Idol Champions Unite in Harmony to Honor Simon Cowell

Back in 2010, something special happened on the TV show American Idol. It was the last episode of Season 9, and seven singers who had won the show in past years came together to sing a song. These winners were Kelly Clarkson, Ruben Studdard, Fantasia Barrino, Carrie Underwood, Taylor Hicks, Jordin Sparks, and Kris Allen. They sang “Together We Are One” to say goodbye and thank you to Simon Cowell, a judge who was leaving the show.

The song they picked was first made in 2006 by some songwriters for a big sports event called the Commonwealth Games. A singer named Delta Goodrem sang it back then, and it was all about people coming together and feeling inspired. That’s why it was perfect for this moment on American Idol.

Simon Cowell was a judge who always said what he thought, even if it wasn’t super nice. But he helped make American Idol a place where new singers could become stars. When he decided to leave, it was a big deal, and this song was a way to celebrate everything he did for the show.

The winners singing “Together We Are One” showed how much they appreciated Simon and how American Idol brought people together like a big family. It was a sweet and happy way to say goodbye. If you want to watch this cool performance, you can find it on YouTube!
