Sheryl Crow and Chris Stapleton are teaming up for a fun TV show called CMT Crossroads: Sheryl Crow & Friends. It will air on September 27 at 10 p.m. ET on CMT, a channel that plays music videos and shows. Before the big day, Billboard shared a special first look at their song “Tell Me When It’s Over” on September 12.
They recorded this song at Sheryl Crow’s home studio in Nashville. Chris Stapleton sings with her and plays guitar, adding a cool, bluesy sound. They wrote “Tell Me When It’s Over” together, and it’s on Sheryl’s newest album, Threads. The song is about a woman who tells her boyfriend she doesn’t want to be the last to know if their love is ending. With loud guitar, a strong beat, and Sheryl’s amazing voice, the message is super clear.
This isn’t the only song in the show! Sheryl will also sing with other famous friends like Jason Isbell, Joe Walsh, Emmylou Harris, Bonnie Raitt, and a duo called Lucius. The show mixes music with little chats between Sheryl and her guests. You’ll hear Sheryl sing her popular song “Strong Enough” with Lucius, and “Walk Away” with Joe Walsh, who first made that song in 1971 with his band, The James Gang.
CMT Crossroads has been around for a long time and has shown other cool pairs like Brett Young with Boyz II Men, Shawn Mendes with Zac Brown Band, and even Katy Perry with Kacey Musgraves. This time, it’s all about Sheryl Crow and her friends on September 27. You can watch a sneak peek of Sheryl and Chris singing “Tell Me When It’s Over” right now!
