Sir Paul McCartney is in awe as he watches Sir Elton John perform his final UK show at Glastonbury – after watching the sun set over Worthy Farm with wife Nancy

On the last UK show of Elton John’s Farewell Yellow Brick Road Tour, something very special happened. Elton, who is 76 years old, was full of feelings as he looked at the huge crowd. They were there to celebrate his amazing 60 years of making music.

The night reminded many people of another big concert in 2022, when Paul McCartney performed at Glastonbury. That show had been delayed for three years because of the pandemic, and it was extra exciting because Dave Grohl and Bruce Springsteen surprised everyone by joining Paul on stage.

At Elton’s concert, fans noticed Paul McCartney watching from the side of the stage. They were so happy to see him there, supporting his friend. One fan wrote online, “I love seeing Paul cheering for other singers. He’s so great!” Another said, “Paul watching Elton is like seeing two music kings together.” Someone else even joked, “Paul must think Elton’s voice is still so strong!”

The concert had many sweet moments. Before singing “Don’t Let the Sun Go Down on Me,” Elton talked about his friend George Michael, who was a wonderful singer and songwriter. It was a special day because it would have been George’s 60th birthday. Elton said, “George was my friend and inspired me. His music is beautiful, and this song is for him.”

Wearing a shiny gold suit, Elton sat at his piano while fireworks lit up the sky. It was a magical way to end the night and say goodbye to his tour.

With Paul McCartney watching and cheering, Elton’s Glastonbury concert was more than just music. It was a celebration of friendship, great songs, and a life of music that people will always remember.
