Reclaiming Her Songwriting Legacy

Skylar, who co-wrote Eminem and Rihanna’s mega-hit “Love The Way You Lie,” shared how meaningful it has been to finally get credit for the deeply personal song.

“Most of the world doesn’t pay attention to who wrote or produced a song. Re-recording ‘Love The Way You Lie’ has helped me step out from the shadows and get recognized for my work,” she explained.
“I’m super grateful for the huge success the song had with Eminem and Rihanna, but I never set out to write songs for others. That was never the career I envisioned. I got paid, yes, but it’s a very personal song — so when people acknowledge my work on it, I feel more fulfilled spiritually.”

Eminem Remains Her Dream Collaborator

When asked about future collaborations, Skylar made it clear:

“I’ve already had my dream collaboration — Eminem. Multiple times. And I’d love to keep working with him. It doesn’t get better than that.”

New Album, New Music & Live Performances Coming Soon

Along with the re-recorded Greatest Hits album, Skylar is also working on brand-new music and gearing up to perform at several events this year. The album will include fresh renditions of fan-favorite tracks like:

  • “Love The Way You Lie” (Part III) – already released as the lead single
  • “Coming Home”
  • “Clarity”

Skylar’s voice and songwriting have been behind some of the biggest hits in modern music — including songs like “Where’d You Go” (Fort Minor), “I Need a Doctor” (Dr. Dre), “Glorious” (Macklemore), “Bed of Lies” (Nicki Minaj), and “From The Ashes” (Illenium).

She’s also written songs for major artists like Kehlani, G-Eazy, Alicia Keys, Christina Aguilera, Céline Dion, Zedd, CeeLo Green, and many more.

As she reintroduces her work in her own voice, Skylar Grey is finally claiming the recognition she’s always deserved.
