Texas rapper G$ Lil Ronnie and his five-year-old daughter were tragically shot and killed at a car wash in Forest Hill, Texas, near Dallas. The fatal shooting took place shortly before 11 a.m. on Monday, March 3.
Gunmen Open Fire at Car Wash
According to police reports, two suspects approached the rapper’s vehicle while it was stationary and opened fire, unleashing between 20 and 30 gunshots. Both victims were pronounced dead at the scene.
Authorities believe the 30-year-old rapper (real name Ronnie Smith) was the intended target, though no motive has been confirmed. The suspects fled in a white Kia, and a warrant has been issued for their arrest. Their identities have not yet been released.
Family and Witnesses React
Ronnie’s aunt, Stella Houston, expressed her devastation, telling FOX 4:
“He was a rapper. He didn’t bother nobody. He didn’t target nobody. He was a family man… Why would you target him?”
She added:
“He was just cleaning the car, and somebody came through shooting… and killed him and the baby. His baby. A baby!”
A witness also described hearing the gunfire, saying:
“Six shots the first time, and then half a second later, six more. Then a second later, I heard three.”

At the time of his passing, G$ Lil Ronnie had around 40,000 monthly listeners on Spotify. He was best known for his song “Hoodtime Killuminati” featuring Go Yayo, which has nearly 4 million streams. He also recently toured with Soulja Boy and released his latest album, Literally, in 2023.
