Top 14 American Idol performances were on fire but 6 talented singers had to say goodbye after a wild voting round

American Idol celebrated Easter Sunday with a special three-hour “Songs of Faith” episode which also, in the end, revealed the results of America’s first vote, which named the Top 20.

Tonight, the Top 20 Idol hopefuls will return to the stage for a night of live performances from Hollywood during which six will be eliminated and the Top 14 revealed.

Host Ryan Seacrest explained the process. The top 10 vote getters are automatically through and sing in celebration. The remaining 10 are in the “danger zone” and are singing to get judges Carrie Underwood, Lionel Richie and Luke Bryan to put them through. The remaining six will be eliminated.

Also on hand was this season’s artist in residence Jelly Roll, who has been acting as an advisor to the talent.

ZAYLIE WINDSOR

Song: “Still Into You” by Paramore
