In her post, she wrote, “Come see us one last time this week.”
Carrie’s next show in Las Vegas is tomorrow, April 9. Then she’ll perform again on Friday and Saturday, finishing her long run of shows there.
Carrie Underwood’s Big Hit “Something in the Water”
Carrie wrote “Something in the Water” with her friends Chris DeStefano and Brett James for her album Greatest Hits: Decade #1. When she shared it as the first song from that album, it became a huge hit. It reached number one on the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart and the Hot Christian Songs chart. It stayed at the top of the country chart for seven weeks and was number one on the Christian chart for an even longer 26 weeks! It also got to number 24 on the Hot 100 chart and number 2 on the Country Airplay chart. Plus, it won Carrie a Grammy Award for Best Country Solo Performance, which is a big prize for singers.
The song is about how believing in something special, like faith, can change your life. It tells the story of someone who feels brand new after being baptized, which is a way some people show their love for God by going under water. Carrie said, “’Something in the Water’ is so happy and inspiring. It makes me smile every time I hear it. I hope it makes everyone who listens feel the same way!”
