Last night, March 19, the Grand Ole Opry turned 100 years old, and they threw a huge party to celebrate! The show was full of famous country singers and tons of fans who love country music. It was an amazing night that no one will forget. If you didn’t get to watch, don’t worry—here are five of the best performances from the big event.
Kelsea Ballerini – “I Was Country When Country Wasn’t Cool”
Kelsea Ballerini sang a song called “I Was Country When Country Wasn’t Cool” to honor Barbara Mandrell, a country music legend. The song is about loving country music even when other people didn’t think it was cool. Kelsea sang about wearing old jeans and flannel shirts and listening to the Opry when her friends liked rock music instead. It was a perfect song for the night because it showed how much country music means to so many people.
Blake Shelton – “Pickup Man”
Blake Shelton sang “Pickup Man” to remember Joe Diffie, another great country singer. The crowd went wild because everyone loves this fun song about a guy and his trusty old truck. Blake’s voice was awesome, and it’s easy to see why he’s one of the biggest stars in country music. The song talks about a kid driving a toy truck and later using it to impress a girl—it’s a classic!

Ashley McBryde and Post Malone teamed up to sing “Jackson,” a famous song by June Carter and Johnny Cash, two superstars who helped make the Opry special. The song is about a couple who got married fast and now want to visit a town called Jackson. No one can sing it like June and Johnny, but Ashley and Post made it exciting and fun for the Opry’s big birthday.
Luke Combs – “Hurricane”
Luke Combs sang “Hurricane,” a song he performed when he first came to the Opry years ago. It’s one of his most famous songs, and it always gets people jumping and cheering. The crowd loved it, and Luke showed why he’s one of the best new country singers around. His big voice filled the room and made everyone happy.
Carrie Underwood – “Forever and Ever, Amen”
Carrie Underwood honored Randy Travis by singing “Forever and Ever, Amen,” one of his best songs. Carrie has an incredible voice, and she made this song extra special. It’s about loving someone forever, no matter what, and lots of people have sung it, but Carrie’s version was one of the best ever. The crowd couldn’t stop clapping for her.
These performances made the Opry’s 100th birthday a night full of music, fun, and love for country!
