6ix9ine has been hit with a $250,000 court order after failing to perform at a concert in Washington, D.C. back in 2018. The rapper was supposed to headline a show at Echostage during Howard University’s Homecoming, but skipped it last minute in favor of a competing event.

According to court documents, 6ix9ine took about $60,000 from promoters Hits Before Fame LLC and After Hours LLC, but instead appeared at the Powerhouse concert at the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey.

The U.S. District Court ruled that 6ix9ine breached his performance contract after months of back-and-forth scheduling and payments. Promoters claimed the rapper’s team cut all communication once ticket sales exceeded $165,000, VIP tables sold out, and over 3,000 fans waited in the rain to see him.

The show was canceled just 30 minutes before opening to avoid crowd unrest, leaving fans disappointed and promoters out thousands of dollars. While the judge sided with the promoters on the breach of contract, he denied their claims of defamation and unjust enrichment due to lack of solid evidence.
