Speaking on behalf of Olly, parents Sarah and Simon Pearson can’t get over the kindness and support shown towards them over the last few days.
Talking to the Leader, they said: “We have been overwhelmed by the reaction. Everyone has been so kind – we literally can’t keep up with the messages coming through. Olly was known to some in Wrexham and those people were first to reach out but it feels like the whole town is now on the journey with us! Can’t thank everyone enough.
“Olly would like to say a massive thank you. To all those people who let him play when he was 9 or 10 at their events to give him the experience. To everyone who supports on social media and a special shout out to Dan at Wrexham Sounds who support Olly and Grandad with his lessons!
“His school have been really supportive and even let his classmates watch him live on TV when he appeared on This Morning. Family and friends are all very proud of Olly including his sister Heather who lives in Paris.
“As parents we are so overwhelmed and can’t thank everyone enough who has been part (big or small) in his journey so far!”
Before learning how to play the guitar, Olly began dancing at an early age. He also enjoys playing the drums, proving he has always been musically gifted.
Supporting his journey since the start is grandad Lee who began teaching Olly when he was just seven during Covid lockdown via Zoom. Bursting with pride, he attended the BGT audition with him, waiting to the side of the stage with show hosts Ant and Dec.
“They have a special bond which playing guitar has only strengthened”, said Sarah and Simon. “They both act like 11-year-olds at time which is nice to see.”
While Olly remains in school, his music dreams have already begun to take over. He hopes to continue improving his talent and eventually play across the globe selling out arenas and stadiums.
“He would love the opportunity to plays along side one of his idols such as AC/DC, Metallica, Guns N Roses, Slash, Black Sabbath etc”, say Sarah and Simon.
Thirty musicians and singers recently gathered in the streets of Paris for a flashmob performance of Queen’s iconic song “Bohemian Rhapsody.”
A flash mob cover of Queen’s Bohemian Rhapsody, featuring vocals from a Sunderland singer and filmed in Paris, has been viewed by over 500 million people on social media.
The stunt, which was filmed in July, shows people going about their to daily lives in the Place de la Contrescarpe before 30 musicians “surprise” locals with the song.
Singer Mickey Callisto, 28, said: “I can’t believe how many people have watched it, the video dropped last week and I’ve got hundreds of messages to respond to.”
Queen released Bohemian Rhapsody in October 1975 and it spent nine weeks at number one in the UK before topping the charts for five more weeks following Freddie Mercury’s death in 1991.
Callisto also scored a viral hit earlier this year when he auditioned for Britain’s Got Talent (BGT) and his vocal talents immediately drew comparisons to the Queen frontman.

“Julien [Cohen], who put the flash mob together had seen my BGT audition and asked me if I wanted to get involved,” Callisto said.
“It was nerve-racking though as there was so many musicians and we didn’t get a chance to rehearse.”

The video has been liked on Instagram by 12 million users and received praised from the surviving members of Queen.
“The official account commented on the video saying ‘we absolutely love this’, I couldn’t believe it.
“It felt like scoring a goal at the Stadium of Light for Sunderland.”

Musician and Youtuber Cohen, who directed and performed in the flash mob, is known for doing similar stunts which often pull in millions of viewers online.
One Youtube viewer wrote: “This guy sounds exactly like Freddie, what a wonderful team of outstanding beautiful talented musicians.”
The singer said the video is helping him get requests to gig all over the world.
“This video has been huge, I mean Ruth Langsford got in touch. She said it made her cry.
“And I’ve also been asked to do a gig in Singapore and Amsterdam, it’s mental.”
