Sydnie Christmas Immerses Herself in Her Medley and Hits Every Note Just Like the Original Songwriter Intended

With a reputation for show-stopping performances, Britain’s Got Talent winner Sydnie Christmas continues to captivate audiences with her extraordinary vocal talent and stage presence.

On Tuesday, September 9, 2025, Christmas headlined a performance at London’s Adelphi Theatre, delivering a medley of Over the Rainbow and She Used to Be Mine that left the audience completely spellbound.

During the performance, Christmas’s eyes welled with tears as she became fully immersed in the songs. Observers noted, “She struggled to contain her emotions as she got lost in her medley.

When she sang, she became the song and delivered exactly what the original songwriter intended, showcasing her incredible vocal range.” The performance highlighted not only her technical skill but also her ability to convey deep emotion, making every note resonate with the audience.

Christmas, who previously impressed theatre-goers with her portrayal of Cruella De Vil in the West End, is now setting her sights on another ambitious role: Sally Bowles in Cabaret. Speaking to the press, she shared, “A lot of my dream roles probably won’t come back on the West End… But something that I would really love to do is Cabaret. I would just love to try my hand at Sally Bowles. I am always trying to feed the universe what I want — it’s the power of positive thinking.”

The Kent-born performer thrives on taking on challenging and contrasting characters. “It’s an actor’s dream to play something which is the opposite of what you actually are. And so Cruella was really fun to sink my teeth into,” she said, emphasizing her commitment to fully inhabiting each role she takes on.

Beyond theatre, Christmas is also focused on developing her own original music. Having written songs since the age of 14, she is now exploring her unique sound as an adult. “It’s nice to approach songwriting as an adult and see what I have to say, and funny enough I have a lot to say apparently, so it’s going well,” she revealed. “It’s different from what people have heard from me; people have heard me sing classics, so naturally it’s going to be different.”

Before stepping into the Sally Bowles role, Christmas will star in lyricist Don Black’s upcoming West End revue, From The Heart, performing a selection of his celebrated catalogue at the Fortune Theatre. The show opens on October 26, with a return engagement on November 2. “I can’t wait to sink my teeth into Don’s incredible catalogue of work and those of his most celebrated collaborators for his new revue show,” she said, highlighting her excitement for the project.

Fans have been quick to express their admiration across social media, praising Christmas’s talent, storytelling ability, and stage presence. Comments such as “Absolutely love your music! Keep living your dream!”, “This sounds pretty autobiographical…you beautiful, talented soul with that amazing story-telling voice!”, and “The emotion in your voice is spellbinding! Absolutely beautiful!” illustrate the overwhelming positive response she continues to receive.

Others highlighted her rare ability to convey emotion through dynamics, precision, and vocal power, noting that her performances leave listeners “completely captivated” and “hypnotized.”

With an exciting West End schedule ahead, a new album in the works, and her sights set on iconic roles, Sydnie Christmas continues to prove she is a versatile and dynamic performer.

From her emotional renditions of beloved classics to original material that promises to surprise fans, Christmas is firmly establishing herself as one of the UK’s brightest theatrical and musical talents.
