It appears that musical talent runs in the family as Shane Filan’s daughter Nicole took to the stage. The Westlife member looked on as a proud dad as Nicole took over the mic and sang at the Relay for Life Sligo event, for which Shane is a national ambassador for.
Shane and Gillian’s daughter Nicole has made her musical talents known over the last few years, with Gillian often posting videos of the girls singing their hearts out.
Posting a clip of Nicole and the band ‘Beezies’, a group consisting of Nicole and her cousins, Shane could not hide his joy as the trio proudly sang Westlife’s first number one hit, Swear It Again.
In the video, the family group proudly belt the song that shot Westlife into stardom, while the crowd cheered on. Shane captioned the clip telling how proud he was of his daughter and nieces, also mentioning how the song had other sentimental reasons to the group.
He wrote: ‘Proud Dad and Uncle! Beezies singing my mums favourite @westlife song Swear it Again .. Amazing girls .. Nana & Grandad be so proud. @relayforlifesligo . What a day so far’. Loyal fans of the band credited the girls for their rendition of the tune, commenting on how ‘truly beautiful’ it was’.
‘This is sooooo amazing, Such talented young ladies’ said one person, while Kian Egan’ wife Jodi Albert praised Nicole’s vocals. ‘Go Coley ! Silky tones’.
‘Wow!!!! Nicole is such a good singer just like her dad’ said another, with floods of comments encouraging Nicole to follow in her dad’s footsteps. ‘Born to be a singer just like her dad aah proud of u and sounds so amazing’.
Shane is down in his hometown of Sligo with his wife Gillian taking part in the 24-hour long event for the Irish Cancer Society, raising funds for the charity that is closest to his heart.
As brand ambassador, Shane has been raising awareness around all the work the charity do for patients and families that are battling the disease, including putting up a special VIP package of tickets to see Westlife perform at the Royal Albert Hall in London for their 25 year anniversary tour.
