Sharon Osbourne reportedly held onto one heartbreaking hope following the death of her husband Ozzy Osbourne — that losing the family patriarch might finally give her daughters a reason to put their differences aside and repair their fractured relationship.
According to a source close to the family cited by In Touch Weekly, Sharon had hoped Ozzy’s death would somehow create a “path to peace” between Aimee and Kelly Osbourne, whose relationship has remained strained for years.
The insider claimed Sharon was “begging her daughters to find a path to peace,” describing the situation as “incredibly heartbreaking” for the grieving mother. According to the source, Sharon loves all of her children and has found it extremely difficult to see Aimee and Kelly remain so distant from one another.
For Sharon, Ozzy’s death appeared to represent a moment when the family might finally come together.
The Osbourne children reunited publicly around their father’s funeral in Birmingham following his death in July 2025. Aimee, who had largely stayed away from the family’s reality-TV spotlight throughout her life, made a rare public appearance alongside Sharon, Kelly and Jack during the emotional farewell.
But any hope that the tragedy would permanently heal the family appears to have been short-lived.
Kelly recently opened up about her relationship with Aimee during an appearance on Paul C. Brunson’s We Need to Talk podcast, revealing just how deeply the estrangement continues to affect her.
Kelly described herself and Aimee as complete opposites and compared their relationship to “oil and water.” She also admitted that one of the hardest things in her life was feeling that she never had the older sister she needed while growing up.
Most painfully, when Kelly was asked whether she believed there was any possibility of reconciliation, she answered “No.”
She went on to say that although she respects and accepts Aimee as a person, she does not want her sister in her life if their relationship continues to involve criticism and attempts to change her.
Those comments reportedly came as a shock to Aimee.
A source cited by In Touch claimed that Aimee was “bewildered” by Kelly’s remarks and was not taking them well. The same source suggested that the renewed public discussion could potentially intensify the family conflict — something that would reportedly be particularly painful for Sharon.
Aimee has always had a very different relationship with public life than her younger siblings.
When The Osbournes became a huge television hit in the early 2000s, she chose not to participate, prioritising her privacy and eventually leaving the family home as a teenager. That decision helped create a distance between Aimee and the rest of the family that has never completely disappeared.
For Sharon, however, the family’s differences may be especially painful now that Ozzy is gone.
The legendary Black Sabbath frontman died in July 2025, only weeks after performing what was billed as his final concert in Birmingham. His death marked the end of an extraordinary chapter for the family, but it also left Sharon and their children facing life without the person who had been at the centre of the family for decades.
And now, instead of bringing the sisters closer together, Ozzy’s death appears to have exposed just how deep their unresolved wounds remain.
Sharon’s reported hope for peace may therefore be one of the most painful parts of the story: she wanted her daughters to find each other again after losing their father, but Kelly’s latest revelations suggest that the distance between them remains.
