It’s been some time since Lindsey Buckingham left Fleetwood Mac, but it still feels strange to think about. Lindsey was a huge part of the band, and he helped make them so popular. His leaving almost doesn’t seem real. Everyone knew he and Stevie Nicks didn’t always get along, and they had argued before.
But this time, things got so bad that Lindsey had to leave the band for good.
Fleetwood Mac talked about this before, but now Christine McVie has explained it more clearly in an interview with Mojo. She said, “There was no other choice. Some band members were really upset with each other. We couldn’t keep going with all five of us, including Lindsey. It was either stop the band completely or try to keep going without him.”
It’s sad to hear, but it makes sense. Lindsey leaving hurts, but it’s better than the whole band breaking up.
His departure wasn’t simple, though. It led to a big argument and even a lawsuit. They worked it out eventually, but it seems like Fleetwood Mac’s problems won’t go away anytime soon.
