The 41-year-old said it was only after seeing a photograph of herself while preparing for the Grammy Awards that she understood the extent of the change in her appearance.

Speaking to The Mail on Sunday, Osbourne said she had been in so much emotional pain following her father’s death that she struggled to recognise what friends and family could see.

She said her grief had affected her appetite and admitted that, looking back, she was not well enough to attend the Grammy Awards, where a tribute was held for the Black Sabbath frontman.

Osbourne said her team had tried to choose an outfit that would not emphasise her weight loss, while she also wore a wig partly covering her face.

Ozzy Osbourne died aged 76 in July 2025, shortly after performing his final concert in Birmingham.

His death followed several years of health problems, including Parkinson’s disease.

Documentary to explore her experience

Kelly also spoke about trying to shield her young son Sidney from the full extent of her grief, saying she made an effort not to become visibly upset around him.

She is now planning a three-part documentary series exploring grief and mental health, drawing on her own experience of losing her father.

Osbourne said the loss had changed her profoundly and that sharing her experience could help others going through bereavement.
